Fake Email ID case: Hrithik Roshan names Kangana Ranaut as witness, cops to record her statement
Police have summoned Kangana Ranaut and her sister to record their statement, following a complaint lodged by actor Hrithik Roshan for fake email-ID.

The Police may summon actor Kangana Ranaut after Hrithik Roshan named her as a witness in his complaint that someone was impersonating him on email. Roshan complained that someone had created an email ID — hroshan@email.com — and corresponded with Ranaut.

An officer said they might call Ranaut and her sister as witnesses to the impersonation complaint. Her lawyer, however, said the police could not summon his client to the police station.
The lawyer, Rizwan Siddiqui, said in a statement, “The witness summons sent to my client and her sister by the police officer are patently illegal, as no woman can be called to the police station to record her statements as per the provisions of law.”
Roshan had approached the cyber police in December 2014, after Ranaut told him she had been corresponding with him on hroshan@email. There was, however, no follow-up to the case. On March 5 this year, the actor sent a reminder to the police, stating the matter was causing him stress and that police should probe it at the earliest. An FIR was then registered last week.
An officer said the police had told Ranaut and her sister to come to the police station within a week so that they could record their statements.
