After giving his son’s wedding a skip, Esha Deol extends best wishes to half-brother Sunny Deol for Gadar 2
Esha Deol took to Instagram to wish half-brother Sunny Deol all the best for his upcoming film Gadar 2, weeks after skipping the wedding of his son, Karan Deol.

Weeks after drawing attention for their internal family dynamics, actor Esha Deol has posted about half-brother Sunny Deol’s new film, Gadar 2, in a rare acknowledgement. Esha is actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s daughter, while Sunny is the eldest son of Dharmendra and his first wife, Prakash Kaur.
On Thursday, Esha took to Instagram to share the trailer for Sunny’s new film, Gadar 2. While she didn’t write a message, she shared a series of emojis congratulating him, applauding the trailer, and expressing her love with a heart. Esha didn’t attend the recent wedding of Sunny’s son, Karan Deol, raising questions about their equation with each other.
Hema Malini and her two daughters, Esha and Ahana, have mostly refrained from commenting on Dharmendra’s first wife, and their four children. Dharmendra appeared to apologise to Hema and their two daughters recently, when he shared a social media post about not calling them up personally to invite them to Karan’s wedding. Neither Hema nor her two daughters attended the festivities.

But Esha did congratulate Karan on his nuptials a day later. “Congratulations Karan and Drisha. Wishing you both a lifetime of togetherness and happiness. Lots of love 🧿❤️,” she wrote. In response to her father’s emotional post, she’d written, “Love you papa . You are the best. Love you unconditionally & you know that . Cheer up & always be happy & healthy. Love u 😘🧿.”
Dharmendra initially wasn’t a supporter of Esha’s decision to join the film industry, but later came to accept it. In a recent interview with Lehren, Hema credited him for always being there for her and their daughters. “I have my two children, they are brought up very well and he (Dharmendra) is always there. That is the best part, he is always there.” She added, “Actually he was worried, ‘shaadi hona chaiye bachchon ka jaldi (The gets should get married quickly).’ I said ‘Hoga (It’ll happen).’ When the time is right, the right person will come around. With the blessings of god and guru ma, everything happened.”
