Rajat Bedi, who was recently seen in Aryan Khan’s The Ba***ds of Bollywood, has made his comeback in the entertainment industry with a character that was vaguely inspired by his personal life, and carried some references to his older movies. Rajat’s character has received a lot of love and the actor has been going around town thanking Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan for their generosity in casting him. In a recent interview, Rajat recalled going to Shah Rukh Khan’s fortress Mannat, and compared it to the royals’ residence Buckingham Palace.

In a chat with Filmygyan, Rajat was asked about Shah Rukh Khan’s mansion, and he said, “Entering mannat is like entering Buckingham Palace. The way you enter an airport, where your belongings are screened… Your belongings are screened when you enter Mannat.” Rajat also shared that the gate of the house where fans are often seen gathering for a glimpse of the star is actually the exit gate of the house, and said that the entry is located elsewhere.

Rajat Bedi also recalled the day when he went inside the house for the first time and shared that Shah Rukh Khan’s house has a 100-seater theatre. Rajat shared that he was invited to the house for the viewing of the extended trailer that was screened for the cast members, and other close friends and associates of the star. He shared that Karan Johar, Shweta Nanda, and other close friends of the Khan family were also there.

“We went to the home theatre, which is like a proper theatre. I think there must be around 100 seats there and it’s like a proper cinema hall,” he recalled and shared that SRK addressed the gathering before the viewing of the extended trailer. Rajat said that here, SRK also spoke about their long association, which started when Rajat was an assistant director on SRK’s Zamaana Deewana at the age of 18. “Very sweetly, SRK said that we have Tiger in our midst, who started his career when he was a child. I was very overwhelmed because I saw him talking about me. He calls me Tiger, never Rajat,” he said.

Rajat Bedi shared more details about Shah Rukh Khan’s residence, revealing that Mannat comprises two sections, a bungalow and an adjoining building. “There is a bungalow and there is a building behind it. It’s one piece of land but there is a bungalow attached with a big tall building. I have not been in that building. I believe there are floors for everyone there but I have just been in that bungalow and that’s also massive. It has huge 2-3 spread out seating areas and dining room,” he shared.
