Ayushmann Khurrana plays Pooja in Dream Girl 2.
Actor Ayushmann Khurrana returns as Pooja in Dream Girl 2, and much like the first film, the sequel also includes the popular song ‘Dil Ka Telephone.’ The new version of the song, titled ‘Dil Ka Telephone 2,’ was unveiled today. In the video, Ayushmann Khurrana is seen not only speaking in a woman’s voice but also dancing as Pooja while dressed in a black lehenga choli outfit. Ananya Panday joins him in the song as his love interest, taking over the role previously played by Nushrratt Bharuccha in the original.
The tune of ‘Dil Ka Telephone 2’ is quite similar to the first version. In the music video, you can see moments from Ayushmann and Ananya’s love story in the movie. The song also introduces characters who are love struck by Pooja. These characters are played by Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav and Abhishek Banerjee. The song also includes appearances by Manjot Singh, Annu Kapoor and Seema Pahwa. While the original singers, Meet Bros and Jonita Gandhi, lend their voices to Dil Ka Telephone 2, Jubin Nautiyal replaced Nakash Aziz in the new version. The music is composed by Meet Bros and the lyrics are penned by Kumaar.
Dream Girl 2 is like a follow-up to Ayushmann’s super successful movie Dream Girl, which came out in 2019. The first movie was about Ayushmann’s character, Karamveer, who, because of financial problems, takes a job at a call centre and pretends to be a woman on the phone. He becomes really popular with customers but then faces problems because of some fans. In Dream Girl 2, Ayushmann will not just talk in a woman’s voice like before, but he will also dress up like a woman and meet possible employers.
Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the sequel is produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and is all set to grace theatres on August 25th.
