After Karan Deol, Sunny Deol’s other son, Rajveer Deol is all set to make his debut in the Hindi cinema. He will be seen on the silver screen in Rajshri Productions’ upcoming project Dono, which also marks the debut of Poonam Dhillon’s daughter, Paloma Thakeria. The film’s trailer was unveiled by the makers on Monday, almost a month before its release on October 5. Rajveer and Paloma’s parents joined them at the trailer launch event.

Helmed by filmmaker and producer Sooraj Barjatya’s son, Avnish Barjatya, also his debut, Dono is a romantic drama that unfolds during a destination wedding. The lead couple Dev and Meghna, played by Rajveer and Paloma, meet for the first time at their friends’ wedding and fall in love with each other.

The trailer gives away the basic plot of the film, which is the same as many Bollywood love stories. A heartbroken boy meets a heartbroken girl and they end up falling in love with each other. Dev is at his best friend’s wedding, whom he has loved for ten years. At the wedding, he meets Meghna, who just broke up with his boyfriend of six years. How they eventually end up finding solace in each other makes for the crux of the story. Now, it remains to be seen if this trope of Hindi cinema would get a fresh treatment in the hands of  Avnish Barjatya.

The music of Dono is composed by Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani, and Loy Mendonsa. The film is penned by Avnish S. Barjatya and Manu Sharma. It is after a long gap of 33 years that Rajshri Productions is backing a true-blue romantic drama after Maine Pyar Kiya, starring Salman Khan and Bhagyashree.

Rajveer was introduced to the audience by veteran actor and his grandfather, Dharmendra, in 2021. He had shared a picture of Rajveer on social media and wrote along with it, “Introducing my grandson #RajveerDeol to the world of cinema along with Avnish Barjatya’s directorial debut. I humbly request you all to shower the same love and affection on both the kids as you have on me. Good luck and Godbless.”

Before making his debut as an actor, Rajveer worked as an assistant director. He has been training under the guidance of film director Feroz Abbas Khan. Talking about him, Avnish Barjatya said in a statement, “Rajveer speaks with his eyes. He has a silent charisma and is tremendously hard-working. The more time we spent talking about the project, the more I began to see Rajveer as the protagonist in my film.”

Sunny’s elder son, Karan Deol, made his acting debut with the 2019 film Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, which was directed by his father.
