Dhurandhar is touted as Ranveer Singh’s comeback film. The title track of Dhurandhar is out now.

After setting the internet abuzz with the first look of Dhurandhar on leading star Ranveer Singh’s birthday, the makers have now unveiled the film’s title track, a reimagining of the classic Punjabi folk song Na De Dil Pardesi Nu, originally performed by Muhammad Sadiq and Ranjit Kaur.

The new version, composed by Shashwat Sachdev and Charanjit Ahuja, is a bold fusion of modern hip-hop and Punjabi flavour, featuring rap by Hanumankind. The track perfectly captures the film’s edge-of-the-seat, high-octane action vibe. Its lyrical video, now streaming on Saregama India’s official YouTube channel, features dynamic glimpses of the principal cast, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan,  in powerful, adrenaline-fueled sequences that set the tone for one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

Fans likened Ranveer Singh’s menacing avatar to Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal look. Ranveer sports long hair, beard and has a cigarette in hand in the song. “This is Ranveer Singh or Ranbir Kapoor?” asked a netizen. While another wrote, “Can’t wait for Ranveer’s Animal moment”.

Speaking about the track, music composer Shashwat Sachdev said, “‘Na De Dil Pardesi Nu’ is a folk classic that carries deep emotion, which made reimagining it for Dhurandhar both an honour and a responsibility. The song was written into the film’s soul — it was in the script from the very beginning, and I built its sound from that spark. Ojas Gautam (Dhurandhar film DA) and I shaped the sonic energy around it until it became the heartbeat of the film’s world. Later, one night in the studio, Aditya Dhar, Hanumankind and I captured an impromptu rap that brought raw, instinctive fire to the track, the kind of moment you live for as a composer. This version bridges generations, resonating with those who grew up with the original, while connecting with a younger audience through its contemporary pulse.”

All eyes are now on the film’s trailer, which is set to be unveiled in November. Expectations are running high, especially among Ranveer Singh fans, who last saw the actor on screen two years ago in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.  Although he did make a brief cameo appearance in Singham Again, Ranveer Singh has, for some time, found himself at the receiving end of online criticism, particularly after he decided to step into the Don franchise, taking on a role once immortalized by Shah Rukh Khan. To add to the challenges, several of his highly anticipated projects, including Baiju Bawra and Rakshas, were eventually shelved.

Dhurandhar is slated for release on December 5, 2025. The film is reportedly inspired by real-life incidents, global conflicts, and covert operations of RAW.
