When the makers of films like Tumbbad and Ship of Theseus come up with a race-against-time thriller, it is safe to assume that nothing is really what it might seem like. Titled Crazxy, the makers on Monday dropped the trailer of the movie, which is set to hit the screens on February 28.

Written and directed by Girish Kohli, Crazxy revolves around a successful surgeon named Abhimanyu Sood (Sohum Shah) who has to shell out Rs 5 crores to retrieve his kidnapped daughter. Over the course of the trailer, we are made to understand that he might be a renowned surgeon, but he is quite the terrible father, who doesn’t give the light of day to his daughter. We see characters played by Nimisha Sajayan and Shilpa Shukla interact with him over phone calls, and various other incidents happening, including high-speed chases, and desperate measures to find ways to get his daughter back. Also, there’s Tinnu Anand on the other end of the phone blackmailing Sohum.

Interestingly, we don’t really see any other character in person, leading to speculations that it could be a one-man show or at least a limited character drama, and this idea is unique enough to carry the stamp of Sohum Shah Films.

Produced by Sohum Shah, Mukesh Shah, Amita Shah, and Adesh Prasad, the music of Crazxy is scored by Vishal Bhardwaj. This film comes close on the heels of the super success of the re-released version of Tumbbad. In fact, even in the comments section of the Crazxy trailer, we can see many netizens comment that they wouldn’t wait for the re-release or OTT release to celebrate Crazxy, and instead flock to the theatres to watch the intriguing film. Will they keep up the promise? We’d know on February 28.
