Chunky Panday recalls getting 32 stitches after he tried to perform a stunt like Amitabh Bachchan: ‘A horse kicked my head’
Chunky Panday was shooting for his film Na-Insaafi when a horse kicked him on his forehead. He had to get 32 stitches on his head.

Chunky Panday was among the most successful actors in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In those early days of his career, Chunky would always go out of the way to do something extra for the shot and one such episode resulted in a rather scary accident on set. The actor recently recalled that in trying to perform a stunt like Amitabh Bachchan, he ended up getting 32 stitches on his forehead.
In an interview with SHOWSHA, Chunky recalled the time when his stunt went wrong, leaving him in a pool of blood. He said, “I have done a film called Na-Insaafi, where I was told that there’s a horse and you have to hold its legs while it jumps. I was like, ‘Are you crazy? The horse will kick me’. So they told me Amitabh Bachchan did it in Satte Pe Satta, you can do it too.”
He further recalled, “As a newcomer, everyone wants to be Amitabh Bachchan. So, the horse went up, and I held its legs. It managed to free one of its legs and kicked me on my forehead. After this, I held my forehead and went to the cameraman and asked, ‘Sir, am I okay?’ And then the cameraman fainted because my head was split open with the wound.” The actor was then quickly rushed to the hospital.
Chunky recalled that his friends on set made fun of the whole situation. He shared, “They asked everyone, ‘What do you think of Chunky Panday and the injury on his head? They said, ‘You know what? Instead of stitching up his head, they should have stitched up his mouth because he talks too much.” Chunky Panday revealed he got about 32 stitches after his injury. He said, “I got 32 stitches then. That was an accident that happened on set.”
Na-Insaafi also starred Shatrughan Sinha in the lead role.
