Chhaava worldwide box office collection Day 7: Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava has become the first big Bollywood hit of 2025. A week after it released in cinemas, the film has earned Rs 219.75 crore at the domestic box office. On its seventh day in the theatres, which was a working Thursday, the film made Rs 22 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. Chhaava’s collections peaked on its third day, which was a Sunday, as it made Rs 48.5 crore. Since then, despite a minor drop on Monday, the film has maintained more than Rs 20 crore in its collections every single day. The film has made Rs 270 crore globally so far.

On Thursday, the film saw 27.96 percent occupancy in cinemas. In the Mumbai region, where the film had over 1400 shows, the occupancy was observed at 43.5 percent and in Pune, where the film had over 730 shows, the occupancy was around 59 percent. Since the film is based on the life of the Maratha warrior, Sambhaji Maharaj, it was expected that the film’s collections in this region will be higher than the rest of the country. In the Delhi-NCR region, the film had over 1300 shows on Thursday and saw an occupancy of around 16 percent.

Chhaava has become the biggest hit of Vicky Kaushal’s career as a leading hero so far. The film has made more money in a week’s time than last year’s hits Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again. In the first seven days, Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 made Rs 158.25 crore at the box office and Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again made Rs 173 crore in India. Both these films were Diwali releases so they enjoyed the benefit of the holiday rush. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 made Rs 260.04 crore during its theatrical run in India and Singham Again made Rs 247.85 crore. Stree 2, which was the biggest Hindi hit of 2024, made Rs 275.35 crore in a week.

Chhaava is expected to dominate the box office for more time as there are no big Hindi releases for the next couple of weeks. This week, Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh-starrer Mere Husband Ki Biwi is releasing in theatres but it does not look like these two films will be in competition with each other.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava also stars Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna in significant roles.
