Chhaava box office collection day 32: Vicky Kaushal’s film mints more on fifth Monday than Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency made on opening day
Chhaava box office collection day 32: Although Chhaava is only a few crores away from surpassing Stree 2, the former's chances of overtaking it remain uncertain due to its weak overseas performance.

Chhaava box office collection day 32: After surpassing the records set by Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (2023) and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, director Laxman Utekar’s Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in the lead roles, is now eyeing the milestones achieved by Stree 2 (2024) in both domestic and global markets. Although Chhaava is only a few crores away from surpassing Amar Kaushik’s horror-comedy, the former’s chances of overtaking it remain uncertain due to its weak overseas performance and steadily declining daily collections.
On its fifth Monday in theatres, Chhaava recorded an India net collection of Rs 2.65 crore, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, surpassing the release-day earnings of Kangana Ranaut’s historical biographical drama Emergency (Rs 2.5 crore). However, this also marked a 66.88 per cent drop in the historical actioner’s daily earnings compared to its Sunday collection of Rs 8 crore. While the Hindi version of Chhaava contributed Rs 2.35 crore to Monday’s total, the Telugu edition added Rs 30 lakh. With this, the film’s total domestic earnings have risen to Rs 565.3 crore, positioning it at the eighth spot in the list of top Indian films in terms of domestic nett collections. Chhaava’s worldwide gross currently stands at Rs 760.75 crore.

While Stree 2 ended its theatrical run with a worldwide gross of Rs 857.15 crore and a domestic net collection of Rs 597.99 crore, Chhaava is now just Rs 32.69 crore away from matching its domestic total. However, with its daily earnings on the decline, it remains uncertain whether it will manage to overtake the Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer. Meanwhile, weak overseas figures have significantly hindered its chances of surpassing the horror comedy globally, with Chhaava’s international earnings standing just above Rs 90 crore. In contrast, Stree 2 amassed Rs 144 crore from the overseas market alone.
During the day, Chhaava recorded an overall occupancy rate of 9.37 per cent in the Hindi market and 11.85 per cent in the Telugu market. The morning shows started with 6.05% and 9.72% occupancy, respectively, with rates improving as the day progressed — rising to 9.59% and 12.85% in the afternoon, 10.37% and 11.87% in the evening and peaking at 11.47% and 12.94% during night screenings.
