Even before the release of Chhaava, there were signs that it would do well at the box office. But nobody could've expected it to be this resounding a success. On its third Friday of release, Chhaava still hit double-digit figures, and amassed a respectable Rs 13.25 crore, according to trade website Sacnilk. This has taken Chhaava's domestic nett collections to Rs 412.5 crore, making it the biggest success in Vicky Kaushal and director Laxman Utekar's careers. Chhaava marks cast member Rashmika Mandanna's third straight entry into the Rs 500 crore club worldwide, after Animal and Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film, backed by Maddock Films' Dinesh Vijan, has entered the list of the Top 25 highest-grossing Indian films. Considering the lack of major competition this week, and the coming weeks too, it is clear that Chhaava might just surpass the lifetime collections of films like Dhoom 3, Tiger Zinda Hai, Padmaavat, and Sanju, to knock on the doors of the top 20. Almost a quarter of Chhaava's earnings are coming from collections outside India, even as the domestic numbers are showing no signs of actually slowing down. With a domestic nett tally of Rs 412.92, it is just Rs 8 crore away from crossing the collections of SS Rajamouli-Prabhas' Baahubali: The Beginning. Considering the response to Chhaava, it can be assumed that this record could be broken as early as today. Notably, on Friday, the film also surpassed the domestic collections of another Prabhas film, Salaar: The Ceasefire, and also earned more than Rajinikanth-Shankar's 2.0.
