Thugs of Hindostan Thugs of Hindostan box office collection Day 5: Thugs of Hindostan has seen a sharp decline in its collections.

After earning a whopping Rs 50.75 crore on Day 1, Thugs of Hindostan has seen a sharp decline in its collections thanks to poor reviews and lack of good word-of-mouth. In five days, this Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh starrer has earned Rs 129 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted the box office figures of Thugs of Hindostan on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “#ThugsOfHindostan HINDI: Thu 50.75 cr, Fri 28.25 cr, Sat 22.75 cr, Sun 17.25 cr, Mon 5.50 cr. Total: ₹ 124.50 cr

Total: ₹ 129 cr [5000 screens] India biz. #TOH.”

Adarsh also tweeted, “#ThugsOfHindostan decline in biz… Fri [vis-à-vis Thu]: 44.33%, Sat [vis-à-vis Fri]: 19.47%, Sun [vis-à-vis Sat]: 24.18%, Mon [vis-à-vis Sun]: 68.12% Hindi version. India biz.”

All the troubles Thugs of Hindostan is facing could be attributed to its poor reviews. The Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta, in her review, wrote, “With two big marquee names coming together for the first time, the screen should have crackled. When Bachchan taps into his unexplored reserves, he is capable of blowing you away. Still. And on the top of his game, Khan is a magnet in his own right. But there is not even a flicker. What you get instead is nothing but a massive cherry-picking enterprise from big entertainers of the past, many of them YRF’s own. Not only do you end up picking up on past films, scenes and references, you are left struggling with staleness and boredom. The writing is shockingly pedestrian, and the film just lies around, waiting for something to happen. Nothing does, for nearly three hours.”
