Maidaan box office collection day 3: Ajay Devgn’s film crosses the Rs 15 crore mark
Maidaan box office collection day 3: After a dull Friday, Ajay Devgn's film sees an impressive spike on Saturday with the film earning over Rs 15 crore overall.

Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan, directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor, opened to a lukewarm response at the box office. It was also facing stiff competition from Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. However, tables seemed to have turned for Maidaan on Saturday. According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 5.5 crore on day 3 at the theatres. With this, Maidaan’s total collection stands at Rs 15.6 crore.
Since Wednesday evening (when the film’s paid previews began), the film has been moving at a snail’s pace at the box office. On day 1, Maidaan collected Rs 4.5 crore in India. As per official figures, Maidaan raked in Rs 10.70 crore worldwide. On day 2, in India, the film’s business saw a noticeable drop with earnings of Rs 3 crore. However, the sports drama saw a spike on Saturday. The film’s footfalls grew by 83.33 per cent and it went on to make more than Rs 5 crore. The overall Hindi occupancy for Maidaan was 19.65 per cent.

This growth in Maidaan’s box office collection is due to the positive word of mouth the film has been receiving in comparison to Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer, meanwhile, has been panned by critics and the audience, which also seems to be impacting its run at the box office.
Maidaan is a biographical drama based on the true story of Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. The film highlights the decade-long journey of the man who revolutionized the sport in India. The film also stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao in important roles.
Ajay Devgn started 2024 with Shaitaan, which has reportedly grossed over Rs 147 crore. The actor will be next seen in Singham Again. which is directed by Rohit Shetty.
