Chandramukhi 2 box office collection day 2: Kangana Ranaut-Raghava Lawrence’s horror comedy mints Rs 12 crore in two days
Chandramukhi 2 box office collection day 2: Kangana Ranaut and Raghava Lawrence's horror comedy earned Rs 4.50 crore on day two.

Kangana Ranaut and Raghava Lawrence‘s Chandramukhi 2, the sequel to Rajinikanth and Jyothika’s Chandramukhi (2005), saw a decent start in Tamil Nadu and Telangana on its release day on September 28. However, on its second day in theatres, the film earned almost half of what it earned on day one. Chandramukhi 2’s box office collection on Friday stands at Rs 4.50 crore (India nett), according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
The film eared Rs 8.25 crore (India nett) on its day of release, and its two-day collection now stands at Rs 12.75 crore with an occupancy of 35.54% in Tamil Nadu. In Mumbai and other western and northern regions of India, the film is yet to make a mark.
Chandramukhi 2 has received mixed reviews. Even if it does mild business at the box office, it is expected to cover its cost as it was made on a tight budget of Rs 65 crore, which even includes the fees of the star cast and the pre and post release promotion cost, according to Bollywoodmoviereviewz.com.
Kangana, a four-time National Award-winning actor, faced a lull in her career as her last few releases such as Dhaakad, Thalaivii, Panga and Judgementall Hai Kya were not successful at the box office. Despite that, she was reportedly paid a massive amount for Chandramukhi 2. The film debuted alongside the Hindi films Fukrey 3 and The Vaccine War, and also had to content with holdover hit Jawan.
Chandramukhi 2 is produced by Lyca Productions and Subaskaran. Lyka Productions have delivered hit films such as Rajinikanth and Shankar’s 2.0, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise, RRR, and Ponniyin Selvan.
