However, the actor recently became a topic of discussion on social media because of his choice of outfit at Chunky Panday’s niece Alanna Panday’s mehendi ceremony on March 14.
A video of Bobby Deol and his wife Tanya surfaced on the internet. When asked about why he chose to wear casuals on Alanna’s mehendi when other guests, including his wife, dressed up in finery in keeping with the theme of Alanna’s wedding festivities, especially in the times where celebrities are papped every time they step out of their homes, Bobby told indianexpress.com that he wears what makes him “happy, comfortable and confident.”

He said, “I firmly believe that living life solely based on societal norms and social media expectations would hinder my ability to live and express myself freely. Therefore, I choose to wear what makes me happy and not let these external pressures dictate my choices. Focusing on my own happiness and what makes me comfortable, confident, and cool is what truly matters to me. By doing so, I am able to live life to the fullest and feel content with myself, which brings me immense happiness.”
Bobby also gave an update on when his film Apne 2, with his father Dharmendra, brother Sunny Deol and nephew Karan Deol, directed by Anil Sharma, will go on floors. He shared, “Currently, the script development process for Apne 2 is ongoing and our focus is on crafting a compelling storyline. As we all know, the script is the foundation of any successful film, and we take its importance very seriously. Rest assured, our team is dedicated to creating a quality product that will meet the expectations of our audience.”
Bobby, along with his Gupt co-star Kajol, participated in a discussion with lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani on inclusivity and customised employment for persons with disabilities. The event was organised by the Gateway School of Mumbai, in partnership with GivingPi. Bobby, here, addressed the lack of opportunities for differently able people in the Indian film industry.
When asked bout his thoughts on the lack of employment opportunities for persons with disabilities in Bollywood, Bobby said, “I strongly believe that creating customized job opportunities for children and young adults in all industries is crucial for their growth and development. It is not just limited to the film industry, but applies to all sectors. I am not a producer myself, but collaborated on a movie project with a group of children who were enthusiastic about being a part of the creative process. Salman Khan also joined us and his kindness and generosity towards the children was heartwarming. It’s essential for industries to recognize the potential and talent of young individuals and provide them with opportunities to hone their skills. It’s always a pleasure to see children and adults alike thrive in the entertainment industry, and I am grateful for the positive impact it has had on the children we worked with.”
On the work front, Bobby Deol is looking forward to the release of Apne 2 and Penthouse.
