Bigg Boss 19’s Kunickaa Sadanand once revealed she had an affair with married Kumar Sanu; his wife destroyed her car: ‘She wanted money’

She recalled, “We were having dinner together, and he got very drunk. He started crying and wanted to jump from the hotel window. He was deeply depressed. His sister, nephew, and I had to hold him down.” Seeing this emotional outburst from Sanu, Kunickaa tried to console him and provide emotional support, and they bonded over his vulnerability. “I got very emotional because he was truly suffering. He didn’t want to break his marriage or leave his children. After calming him down, I reminded him of his responsibilities towards his kids and work. I think that moment brought us closer,” she said.

Kumar was the father of three kids when he got involved with Kunickaa, but the couple never appeared in public together out of respect for the his family. “We only appeared in public when performing at shows together. I helped select his clothes and managed arrangements for his performances,” she said.

Kunickaa even went on to term her relationship with Sanu as that of a husband and wife. “I was like his wife and considered him like my husband. It felt like a relationship similar to Shakuntala and Dushyant,” she added.

But Sanu’s troubled personal life also affected Kunickaa. “But later, I discovered things about him that broke my heart,” she said. She also recalled how Sanu’s then-wife Rita destroyed her car as she was frustrated because the singer wasn’t giving her money to take care of the kids. “His wife smashed my car with a hockey stick. She would come outside my house and scream. But I understood her. She wanted money for her children, she wasn’t wrong. She said she didn’t want him back,” she recalled.

Kunickaa and Kumar Sanu were in a relationship for five years, but they eventually broke up. He went on to divorce Rita in 1994. He later tied the knot with his current wife, Saloni Bhattacharya, in 2001.
