Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff promoted their film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan quite aggressively but despite their efforts, the results are not what they would have hoped. After making Rs 15.65 crore on its opening day in India, the film has only made Rs 7 crore on its second day, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. This takes the film’s domestic total to Rs 22.65 crore. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film was promoted as a big-budget extravaganza with the two lead heroes performing some daring stunts.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan released on Eid, which was a holiday, and while the opening day numbers were mediocre, it looked like the film might pick up over the extended weekend. It is yet to be seen if the film can pick up during the upcoming weekend. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan hasn’t generated positive reviews which could hamper its collections even further.

The film released alongside Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn, which also had a slow start at the box office. Maidaan made Rs 7.1 crore on its opening day (with paid previews a day prior) and could only manage to bring in Rs 2.75 crore on its second day, taking its box office collection to Rs 9.85 crore.

Akshay Kumar hasn’t witnessed many successes at the box office lately. He witnessed a string of flops in 2022 with films like Samrat Prithviraj, Ram Setu, Bachchhan Paandey, Raksha Bandhan all tanking at the box office. 2023 saw a ray of hope with OMG 2, which was produced by Akshay and saw him in an extended cameo. OMG 2 was a hit at the box office. 2024, however, hasn’t started in a promising fashion. Samrat Prithviraj, which was one of the biggest flops of 2023, given its high budget, also opened better than Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. It made Rs 23.3 crore in India during its first two days, and ended its box office run with Rs 68.05 crore, as per Bollywood Hungama.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also stars Alaya F, Manushi Chillar, Ronit Roy, Sonakshi Sinha and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
