Atul Kasbekar to produce Neerja Bhanot biopic starring Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor to play lead role in Neeraj Bhanot biopic produced by Atul Kasbekar.

Around 4:36 am on 6 Sep 2014, Atul Kasbekar, the ace photographer took to twitter and posted a tweet that read, “Do U Know Who Neerja Bhanot Is? No? Well U Really Really Should…”. Well, it’s been almost a year now. The present day status is that, now he is actually producing the Neerja Bhanot biopic!

Elaborating on the same, Atul mentioned that his company Bling will be co-producing Ram Madhwani’s film along with Fox Star Studios. So far, the only person confirmed for the film is Sonam Kapoor, who will be playing the (title) role of the late Neerja Bhanot.

For starters, the late Neerja Bhanot was a senior flight attendant who saved 360 lives on Pan Am flight, when it was hijacked in Karachi in 1986. And at the age of mere 23 years, she also became the youngest and first woman recipient of the prestigious ‘Ashok Chakra’ award.
