Article 370 box office collection day 3: Film trails behind Kashmir Files as it earns Rs 25.45 cr, Yami Gautam says ‘audience proved naysayers wrong’
Article 370 box office collection day 3: The Yami Gautam and Priyamani-starrer maintained strong momentum at the box office, capitalising on its first weekend. The film's total domestic earnings stands at Rs 25.45 crore.

After a robust opening at the box office, Article 370, starring Yami Gautam and Priyamani, has continued its strong performance, capitalising on its first weekend. According to film’s makers, the film grossed Rs 10.25 crore on Sunday, bringing its total domestic earnings to Rs 25.45 crore.
Article 370 box office journey commenced on Friday with a collection of Rs 6.12 crore in India. It witnessed a notable surge in revenue on Saturday, amassing Rs 9.08 crore, marking over a 25 percent increase from its debut. This upward trend persisted on Sunday. The makers said that Article 370 box office collection globally stands at Rs 34.71 crore. Despite receiving mixed reviews, Article 370 has performed well at the box office, partly attributed to its release coinciding with ‘Cinema Lovers Day,’ which featured discounted ticket prices at Rs 99. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mentioned Article 370 in a rally in Jammu on February 20 and said that the film will be useful for people to get the correct information.
Yami thanked audience for accepting the film and wrote, “When we were making Article 370, so many people told us that this film won’t work with the audience, ‘it’s too technical, too many political jargons etc etc’. But we went ahead with our gut because we knew those naysayers were underestimating our audience. Thank you all for proving them absolutely wrong. Thank you so much for giving so much love to our small little film, with a big heart. We are humbled and will remain forever grateful to all of you. Dhanyawaad (thank you)! Jai Hind!”

Released alongside the action-packed film Crakk, starring Vidyut Jammwal and Nora Fatehi, Article 370 has maintained a competitive edge over the three days since their release. On Sunday, Crakk garnered Rs 2.40 crore, accumulating a total domestic collection of Rs 8.80 crore, significantly trailing behind the total earnings of Article 370.
Article 370 delves into the Prime Minister’s decision to revoke the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir. Comparisons have emerged with Vivek Agnihotri’s 2022 hit, The Kashmir Files, centered on the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Indian-administered Kashmir. While Article 370 surpassed The Kashmir Files in collection during its initial two days, it fell short on the third day. The Kashmir Files grossed Rs 27.15 crore in its first three days of release, whereas Article 370 accumulated Rs 22.80 crore during the same timeframe.
Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and produced by Aditya Dhar and B62 Studios, the film also features Kiran Karmarkar, and Arun Govil in pivotal roles.
