Animal box office collection day 14: Ranbir Kapoor-starrer is inches away from breaking Baahubali 2’s record in India, crosses Rs 800 crore globally
Animal box office collection day 14: Ranbir Kapoor-starrer has maintained its dominance at the box office for two weeks now. The film's nett domestic collection currently stands at Rs 476.84 crore.

Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal has been in the theatres for two weeks now and apart from generating controversy for its misogyny and excessively violent sequences, the film has also drawn massive crowds to the cinemas. On its 14th day in the theatres, the film recorded its lowest single-day haul as it earned Rs 8.75 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. This takes the film’s domestic nett collection to Rs 476.84 crore.
After getting a massive opening at Rs 63.8 crore, Animal recorded its biggest single-day on its third day at the theatres when it made Rs 71.46 crore. In the last few days, after the film’s second weekend, the collections started to drop and it recorded less than Rs 15 crore. On Thursday, the film had 1264 shows in the Delhi-NCR region, which saw an occupancy of 17.25% and in Mumbai, the film had 801 shows with an occupancy of 15%.
Globally, the film has made Rs 772.33 crore in its first 13 days, as per producer T-Series but on the 14th day, this figure is sure to cross Rs 800 crore. With another weekend ahead and no major films releasing today, this could be another chance for it to bolster its earnings. Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki and Prabhaas’ Salaar are releasing next weekend and with two major releases coming, this could possibly the last weekend when Animal maintains its dominance at the domestic box office.
Animal is inches away from crossing Baahubali 2’s (Hindi) lifetime collection in India. The SS Rajamouli film made Rs 510.99 crore nett domestic when it released back in 2017, as per Bollywood Hungama. For the longest time, Baahubali 2 (Hindi) held the top spot but this year, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Jawan, and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, exceeded its collections. And now, it seems like Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film will cross Baahubali 2 (Hindi) as well. The domestic nett collections of Baahubali 2 (all languages), however, were Rs 1030.42 crore, as per Sacnilk.
2023 has been a great year for Hindi movies as films like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, The Kerala Story, OMG 2, Dream Girl 2 also managed to do fairly well. While Jawan has been the top grosser of the year so far, it is yet to be seen if Dunki or Salaar manage to take its place.
