Director Anees Bazmee is currently basking in the massive success of his horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles. The third installment in the eponymous franchise, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has already grossed Rs 357.75 crore worldwide, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, outperforming director Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, which boasts a star-studded ensemble, including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor, besides a cameo appearance by Salman Khan.

Known for crafting comedy movies, Anees had initially planned to direct a project featuring Shahid Kapoor before taking on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. However, the project was shelved after Shahid reportedly exited due to creative differences. Though Anees himself previously confirmed the film’s indefinite pause, he refrained from disclosing the exact reasons for Shahid’s departure. Despite this, he has expressed interest in revisiting the project with a new lead, though no concrete updates have surfaced since then.

Now, Anees Bazmee has suggested the possibility of collaborating with Shahid finally. “I still have that film in my mind. I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of fun working with Shahid. He’s very good! Why shouldn’t I work with him again? Mujhe kisi se na dushmani hai, na naaraazgi (I have no enmity or resentment towards anyone),” he said during a chat with News18 Showsha.

The filmmaker further elaborated on the importance of mutual understanding while making a film, stating, “When you make a film, there should be an agreement between two people. In an ideal situation, you’ve to be honest to one another in terms of the expectations that you’ve from each other. This is the only way to get rid of any kind of confusion. I’ve a certain style of working that makes me feel comfortable and it’s very tough for me to change my ways after so many years of working.”

“Shahid, in the same way, has his own way of working and thinking. Sometimes, two thought processes may not align but that’s completely alright. It’s okay to not work together in a situation like that. If we can align our sensibilities, we’ll definitely work again. That hasn’t impacted our equation in anyway. Whenever he meets me, he talks to me with a lot of love and respect. I’m the same amount of love in my heart for him. But the one thing that I can tell you is that when we come together again, we’ll definitely make a great film,” he added.
