Amitabh Bachchan was seen offering jewellery at the newly inaugurated Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Amitabh Bachchan visited the Ayodhya Ram temple for the second time recently, after attending the temple’s inauguration on January 22. In pictures posted by news agency ANI, the superstar was seen entering the temple complex amid high security, and offering prayers to the Ram idol.

Dressed in a white kurta-pyjama, the actor had a saffron stole wrapped around his neck. He prayed with folded hands in the temple. In another set of pictures, Bachchan was also seen offering jewellery at the temple, as he celebrated the opening of the 250th store of a jewellery brand he’s the brand ambassador of.

According to reports, Bachchan visited the temple on Thursday afternoon and spend around half an hour there. He then had a lavish lunch with officers of the Ayodhya administration at the residence of commissioner Gaurav Dayal.

According to Hindustan Times, Bachchan was joined by several local dignitaries. The actor was reportedly served vegetarian Awadhi cuisine for lunch. Commissioner Gaurav Dayal was quoted as saying, “It was a great moment with Mr Bachchan. We had formal talks on art and culture of Awadh. Mr Bachchan also invited us to his home in Mumbai.”

Bachchan, along with his son Abhishek and other Bollywood personalities such as Madhuri Dixit, Chiranjeevi, Rohit Shetty, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan, among others, attended the temple’s inauguration ceremony on January 22. Bachchan, reportedly is also building a home in the ‘global spiritual capital’ Ayodhya after buying 10,000 square feet of land for Rs 14.5 crore.
