Akshay Kumar intervenes at Housefull 5 event as women and children caught in crowd frenzy: ‘Aap log ko yahan se jaana padega’

The Housefull 5 team was in Pune to promote their film at a mall, however, the situation with the crowd went quite out of hand and Akshay Kumar had to intervene to calm people.

Actor Akshay Kumar had to intervene to control the crowd at a Pune mall as Housefull 5 cast was at the venue to promote their upcoming film. Women and children could be seen crying as the crowd surged to catch a glimpse of the starcast. In the ensuing melee, a child got separated from her parents and actor Jacqueline Fernandez can be seen trying to calm her. A man with breathing issues also had a tough time as the mall was packed to capacity.

Both Akshay Kumar and actor Nana Patekar requested the crowd to calm down and not push others. Akshay took the microphone and said with folded hands, “Aap log ko yahan se jana padega. Aap dhakka dhukki mat kariye. Haath jod ke vinanti karta hoon, yaha auratein hai, bacche hai (You will have to leave. Don’t push and shove. I am requesting with folded hands as women and children are present here). I request everyone.” Besides Akshay, Nana and Jacqueline, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Soundarya Sharma, and Fardeen Khan were also present at the event.

Other cast members also looked quite tense as the crowd surged, and those at the back pushed to catch a glimpse of stars. Many children and women caught in the crowd were seen crying as a stampede-like situation ensued.

After the situation was brought under control, the team proceeded with the event. In a few videos, Akshay Kumar was seen playing phugdi with a fan and also the cast members, getting the crowd to cheer louder for them. Fans on social media strongly reacted to videos where a woman was seen crying. One of them wrote, “I’m sure aunty was crying because she was stuck in that claustrophobic situation.” Another user commented, “Aisa hi craze agar log hamare soldiers ke liye dikhate train mein bus mein ya kahin bhi to kitna acha hota. Yeh Bollywood ke liye pagal hone se kya milega? Unhe to desh ke liye bhi koi fikar nahi.”

Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, and Johnny Lever were also at the Pune event along with Akshay Kumar and Nana Patekar. Housefull 5 features 19 actors in total. The film is directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It is slated to release in theaters on 6th June.
