Ajay Devgn says he wanted to create ‘madness’ with the world of Bholaa. Watch making video
Directed by Ajay Devgn, Bholaa is the Hindi remake of Tamil film Karthi.

After 2022’s Runway 34, Ajay Devgn is returning to the director’s chair with Bholaa. The film stars Ajay and Tabu in the lead roles. In a recently released making video, the actor-director and the cast talk about his process of directing a film. This is Ajay’s fourth film as a director after U Me Aur Hum, Shivaay and Runway 34. Tabu, who was recently seen with Ajay in Drishyam 2, shared in the video that when Ajay dons the director’s hat “he comes completely prepared”.
“This time it was different because he was not just an actor, he was the director,” she says in the video and explains that if something is not working, “he will find an alternative”. Ajay is passionate about directing films and as the video shows behind-the-scenes footage from the sets, the actor says, “As a director, I love what I am doing.” Ajay shares in the video that he is fully focused on direction. “Things get a lot more easier jab aap apna dimaga ur dil ek hi focus pe rakhte hain (Things get a lot easier when your heart and mind is focused on the same goal),” he says. The actor also talks about creating “madness” with the world of Bholaa.

Bholaa is the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Kaithi, which was written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. At the trailer launch of the film, Ajay Devgn spoke about his love for filmmaking and said, “You can’t segregate between acting and direction because it is all one. You enjoy filmmaking in totality. It is a combination; you can’t enjoy one or love the other.”
Calling Bholaa a “family story”, the actor-director said, “If you do action without any reason, there will be no reaction for it no matter how good action it is. I don’t think there is a difference between mass and family audience when emotions are concerned. Emotions are universal, like the emotion of a father and mother for their children is the same.”
Bholaa releases in theatres on March 30.
