Abhishek Bachchan says he doesn’t do ‘heavy lifting at home’, it’s entirely done by Aishwarya Rai: ‘She allows me to go and do my work’

“I have to put a caveat here – I do not do the heavy lifting at home. That is entirely done by my wife. She allows me to go and do my work. The point is, do not try and deal with it. I do not think the new generation has a sense of hierarchy. That was something we were brought up with.

“They are inquisitive… they are like ‘Why? Why should I just listen to you because you are my mother?’ They are far more informed, they are born into this era of information and technology. (So my advice is just) answer their questions,” he added.

Abhishek Bachchan revealed he had questioned his sister Shweta Bachchan when her kids were given phones at the age of ten. But she made him understand that he also got his first phone before their father Amitabh Bachchan. Abhishek said his sister asked him if their father was upset when he got a mobile phone at 22– making him realise that the new generation is “better informed” with information at their fingertips.

On the work front, Abhishek was recently seen in Ghoomer. The sports drama, directed by R Balki, also starred Saiyami Kher and released last month. Though the film received acclaim, Ghoomer was a washout at the box office.
