WBBSE West Bengal 10th Result 2023 Updates: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) today (May 19) declared the Madhyamik results. The state education minister Bratya Basu announced that the result will be declared at 10 am. The Class 10 or Madhyamik exams were held from February 23 to March 4 between 12:45 pm to 3 pm. School authorities will get mark sheets and certificates of their students from various camp offices of the board from 12 noon of May 19, an official notification stated.
This year, a total of 6,98,628 students registered for the class 10 examinations. The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) today announced the Madhyamik exam will be held from February 2 to 12, 2024. The first language paper will be held on February 2.
State education minister Bratya Basu congratulated students through his Twitter handle. He said: 'The pass rate among regular candidates is 86.2%. Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all the successful students. May your future be golden. Great achievement, be a good person, be successful in life.'
Of the 118 students in the top 10 ranks in the Madhyamik exams, 21 were from Malda, 17 from Purba Bardhaman, 14 from Bankura, 13 from South 24 Parganas, 11 from Purba Medinipur , nine from North 24 Parganas, nine from Paschim Medinipur, six from Purulia, five were from Hooghly and four from Howrah, while there were three students from Cooch Behar, two from Birbhum and one each from Dakshin Dinajpur, Jalpaiguri, Jhargram and Nadia districts. Notably, none of the toppers were from schools in Kolkata.
The total pass percentage in the General Category stood at 86.15, while it was 82.88 per cent in the SC category and 76.03 per cent in the ST category. Purba Medinipur scored the highest followed by Kalimpong, Kolkata and Paschim Medinipur. As many as 13.67 per cent of the candidates scored more than 60 per cent.
This year, as many as 6,82,321 students appeared for the West Bengal Madhyamik examination, of which 5,65,428 passed. Every year nearly 10 lakh candidates used to register, however, this time there is a decrease in registration noted.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took to Twitter to congratulate the Madhyamik candidates. “Congratulations and best wishes to all the students who passed the secondary examination. May each of your future days be filled with success,” she tweeted.

The WBBSE Chief today offered support to the students who could not clear their Madhyamik results today. 'This is not the end, it is a second chance and a new beginning. Do not give, you will be able to ace the exams next time,' he said in the press conference today.
