UPSC CSE Mains 2024: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the schedule for the Civil Services Main Examination 2024. The UPSC CSE Mains 2024 exam will be held from September 20 to September 29. The detailed timetable for the exam is available on the official website – upsc.gov.in.

Candidates who qualified the UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 are eligible to appear for the UPSC CSE mains 2024.  UPSC CSE prelims exam was conducted on June 16 and the result was declared on July 1. A total of 14,627 candidates cleared the UPSC CSE prelims exam. This year, the Commission aims to fill 1,056 vacancies, including 40 seats reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

UPSC CSE mains 2024: Dates and session timings

The UPSC CSE mains 2024 examination will begin with the essay paper on September 20. On September 21, candidates will appear for general studies paper-I in the morning session and general studies paper-II in the afternoon. The following day, September 22, will see general studies paper-III in the morning and general studies paper-IV in the afternoon.

On September 23, the Indian language paper and the English paper, both qualifying, will be held in the morning and afternoon sessions, respectively. The final exams on September 28 will cover optional subject paper-I in the morning and optional subject paper-II in the afternoon.

Each exam day will have two sessions: the morning session from 9 am to 12 noon, and the afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
