National Teachers’ Awards 2024: The Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Education, has announced the winners of the National Teachers’ Awards 2024. A total of 50 teachers from across the country have been selected for the award, which will be conferred today, September 5 at 4:15 pm onwards at Vigyan Bhawan.
These 50 awardees represent 28 states, 3 union territories, and 6 organisations. Among them, 34 are male, 16 are female, 2 are differently abled, and 1 works with children with special needs (CWSN).
In addition to the 50 teachers, 16 teachers from the Department of Higher Education and 16 teachers from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will also be awarded on the occasion.

These selected teachers were chosen through a rigorous three-stage selection process conducted by the Department and the process included district, state, and national levels of evaluation. A total of 82 teachers will be honored at the event. The National Awards to Teachers were first instituted in 1958, the guidelines were revised in 2018.
