NEET UG 2023: Though Bangladesh is not a preferred study abroad destination for Indian students, however, it attracts medical students who wish to stay in South Asia. As per the data provided by the Indian government, there were nearly 9,308 Indian students in Bangladesh in 2022.
Out of these 9000 Indian students, 922 appeared for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) and 370 students cleared the medical screening test in 2021.

The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course in Bangladesh is five years long with one year of internship. All medical students must finish their internship year, to be eligible to obtain their degree certificate.
To secure a seat in an MBBS programme in any of the Bangladesh universities, candidates need to first choose an institute and then fill out the application form for that particular varsity. Candidates should note that the NEET score is compulsory as eligibility criteria.
As soon as the chosen university provides a conditional offer letter, students can apply for the study visa by filling out the government forms and attaching the needed documents such as a passport copy, education degree proofs, identity proof, conditional offer letter from the university and more.
Courses in the full-time department of MBBS degree costs approximately Rs 30 lakh-40 lakh for the whole degree, which may usually include hostel fees.
Usually, MBSS is taught in English at all universities located in Bangladesh. Other than English, the local language of the country is Bangla.
