The Karnataka SSLC supplementary exams were conducted between June 14 and June 21.

The Karnataka board exams were conducted from March 25 to April 6. This year, a total of 8.9 lakh students have registered the Karnataka Board matric exam including 4.5 lakh boys and 4.3 lakh girls. This year’s overall pass percentage is 73.40 per cent, which is a decline from last year’s 83.89 per cent and 2022’s 85.13 per cent. This is also a decline from the pre-pandemic years (2019) when the pass percentage was 73.70 per cent.

Considering the decline in the pass percentage, the state government decided to reduce the qualifying marks from the existing 35 per cent to 25 per cent, and grace marks were increased from 10 per cent to 20 per cent in all subjects as one time measure for all the three SSLC exams of 2024. After the normalisation, the pass percentage was recorded at 73.40 per cent.

The reason for decrease in pass percentage is due to webcasting which was introduced in order to reduce malpractice and ensure examination integrity,’ says Ritesh Kumar Singh, principal secretary school education department.

The Class 10 mark sheet mentions the marks scored by students in different subjects. Students must note that the scorecard will be provisional, hence, the students are required to collect the original mark sheet from their schools. The scorecard will mention the student’s name, roll number, date of birth, marks scored by them in different subjects, etc.
