Karnataka 2nd PUC Result 2023 Declared: It was a reason for double celebration for SC Muralinath — father of SM Koushik who topped the Karnataka 2nd PUC Science stream exams — as his son achieved success by studying in the college where his father is the president.
SM Koushik, a student of Srinivaspura of Kolar district, secured a whopping 596 marks out of 600 in the second Pre-University board examination conducted by the Karnataka Pre-University education department. A U-14 state cricketer SM Koushik said that despite Covid-19, he was able to score the highest marks because of his lecturers who were always available. Koushik is the son of SM Sujatha and SC Muralinath.
Speaking to The Indian Express, a student of Gangothri PU College, SM Koushik said that during his first year PU (11th class), he went to college only for four months but later picked it up as his tutors helped. “I did not expect to be a topper but I thought I would score 550 marks. The results surprised us. I have secured 100 out of 100 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics and lost two marks in English and Hindi (optional) respectively,” he said.
SC Muralinath, who was elated with the results, said that it was the first time that the college has got a topper. “We established this college in 2009-10 and I have been the president of the trust. Though we topped at the taluk level (in pass percentage and topper) and at district levels, we never made it to the state. This time, my son has made the entire college staff proud by topping the list,” he added.
SM Koushik said that he wants to get into engineering and is interested in aerospace and is hoping to study post graduation and take up research.
