JEE Main Result 2025 Live Updates: 'Confident about my preparation'

Rajit Gupta, a resident of Mahavir Nagar in Career City Kota, has brought laurels to Kota, the Kashi of education, by scoring 100 NTA score in JEE Main January Session.

Rajit is a regular classroom student of Allen Career Institute. Earlier, he has passed 10th class with 96.8 percent marks.

"My main focus was not to repeat the mistakes, because only when mistakes are removed, the foundation of your subject becomes strong. Happiness is my key of success. I remain happy in every situation," he said.

"I am currently in class 12th but whenever I get a chance, I play with the children of the colony. I am confident about my preparation. I had not even seen the answer key. My father told me to get the answer key once but I said, 'Papa, don't worry, I will qualify for Advanced'. However, I never strictly followed a schedule for studies because it creates unnecessary pressure. So I used to study only when I felt like it, but for whatever time I studied, I used to study well. I used to study further in the topic only after clearing my doubts. Allen is the perfect institute for preparing for exams like JEE. Here, apart from the teachers' guidelines and Allen's study material, you do not need to get distracted anywhere. Currently, the focus is on JEE Advanced. Father Deepak Gupta is a sub-divisional engineer in BSNL and mother Dr. Shruti Agarwal is a professor of home science subject in JDB College."

JEE Main Result 2025 Live Updates: 'IIT Mumbai is my dream institution'

Arnav Singh has obtained 100 NTA score in JEE Main January session exam. Arnav, a resident of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, has been a classroom student of Allen Career Institute since 2019.

Saying that his current focus is on JEE Advanced 2025, Arnav said: "I seriously complete whatever homework I get after class every day. Along with practice, doubts also come out from homework. The more doubts you clear, the stronger your grip on the topic will be. I study for 10-12 hours daily."

His father, who is a faculty of Mathematics in Allen, has been his constant motivator.

"Many times he also clears my doubts. Earlier, I had secured 97 per cent marks in 10th class. Currently, my focus is on JEE Advanced. IIT Bombay is my dream institution, therefore, I am trying my best to get the top rank so that my dream can come true," Arnav added.

JEE Main Result 2025 Live Updates: Om Prakash Behera wants to do BTech in CSE from IIT Bombay

I learn from mistakes and become stronger — Om Prakash Behera

Om Prakash Behera of Allen Career Institute has obtained a perfect score of 300 out of 300 in JEE Main January session exam. His NTA score is 100. Om Prakash said that while preparing for JEE Main and JEE Advanced, he follows the guidelines of teachers only.

For JEE Main, Om Prakash mainly focused on NCERT syllabus. The graph of marks kept fluctuating in weekly mock tests but I tried to give my best, he said adding that after every test, he used to do self-analysis and see which mistakes were responsible for getting less marks.

"In the next test, I would try not to repeat those mistakes. My success mantra is that instead of focusing on what has already happened, I focus on what is happening. I do not have a phone because it distracts the attention. Currently, I am busy preparing for JEE Advanced. I do self-study for about 8 to 9 hours daily. I want to do B.Tech. from CS branch of IIT Mumbai," he said.

Om Prakash, a resident of Bhubaneswar, Odisha and a regular classroom student of Allen Kota for the last three years, has passed Class 10th with 92 per cent marks. Om Prakash likes to read novels. He lives with his mother in Kota. Om Prakash's mother Smita Rani Behera is a college lecturer in education subject in Odisha, but, to give better care to her son during studies, she has left her job and is living in Kota for the last three years. His father, Kamalkant Behera is an officer of Odisha Administrative Services.

JEE Main Result 2025 LIVE: What if two candidates score exactly the same marks?

If two candidates from the same shift have the same marks, then their percentile scores will be the same.

However, if the candidates from different shifts score the same marks, the percentiles may be different. The reason is that the percentile scores or the relative position of the candidates are calculated with reference to each shift separately. It is possible that the same marks in different shifts would correspond to different relative positions.

JEE Main Result 2025 LIVE: ‘On-campus placements are cut-throat’: IIT students, faculty explain why PPOs are gaining popularity

With the placement season beginning at the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) from December 1, many students have opted to sit out and not participate in this placement season. Why? They have managed to secure a PPO.

When students secure a placement offer before the placement drive starts on campus, that offer is called a pre-placement offer (PPO). The journey to securing a PPO begins over a year before the on-campus placement drive begins. Many engineering students take up summer internships during their course of study, be it as part of their curriculum or their own exploration. After successful completion of their internship period, some students are offered a full-time position by the company which changes their status from an intern to a permanent employee in that company.

The internships that students secure can be attained on-campus or off-campus, depending on students’ exploration and the institute’s partnerships. Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) is increasingly gaining popularity among IIT students. For example, IIT Madras (in the 2022-23 placement season) stated that the institute received a record-breaking 350 PPOs after the 2022 summer internships.

JEE Main Result 2025 LIVE: Only 5% graduated students still ‘looking for appropriate career opportunities’ in IIT Delhi

IIT Delhi also conducted an exit survey among the graduated students which revealed that only 5 per cent graduated students (from last year) were still looking for appropriate career opportunities. A large fraction of these students comprises of PhD scholars looking for Post-Doctoral Research opportunities abroad.

Students availing on-campus placement in 2023-2024 had increased by about 25 per cent from 2022-23, which includes a six-fold increase in number of PhD scholars. The total number of graduates in 2023-24 is higher than the previous year by close to 10 per cent, and the number of PhD graduates by 30 per cent.

For the first time, IIT Delhi conducted a special placement drive for PhD Scholars in June 2024, which helped to increase the number of offers by seven times compared to the previous year. Notwithstanding the success of the initial attempt at PhD placement, a large majority of these graduates are placed through off-campus placement which is to be expected as they are recruited to occupy niche roles.

JEE Main Result 2025 LIVE: Over 13% students opted for higher studies over placements last year

As per the exit survey, 359 (13.5 per cent) IIT Delhi students responded that they are going for higher studies, 47 (1.8 per cent) PhD students informed that they are waiting for a post-doctoral research opportunity or for a faculty position. Similarly, 321 (~ 12.1 per cent) students informed that they are preparing for different examinations, for example, civil services, engineering services, and examinations required for different government jobs.

JEE Main Result 2025 Session 1 Live Updates: Classes are not only informative but also fun and engaging: IIT Bombay BTech student about his journey

IIT Bombay’s campus is a world of its own. There’s always something happening—be it music jamming sessions with friends in the evenings or orientations by various clubs and tech teams. Most of my evenings were spent attending these orientations, getting to know the vast opportunities available. I must say the food here at the mess is something I have come to love. Contrary to the usual belief that mess food is not tasty, I have found the meals here to be quite good, especially considering the long hours of work.

The professors at IIT Bombay are incredibly supportive, always encouraging us to not only focus on academics but also to explore extracurricular activities. One memorable experience for me was in my first semester’s mathematics course. My professor would demonstrate mathematical concepts using examples from ancient Sanskrit texts and even old Bollywood songs, which made the class not only informative but also fun and engaging
