JEE Main 2020 Application Form HIGHLIGHTS: How to apply online, fee, exam pattern

JEE Main April 2020 application form: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated the application form link for registration for the second session of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020 today. JEE Main exam dates changed

The exam which was earlier scheduled to be held from April 3 to 9 will instead take place on April 5, 7, 9, 9 and 11.  The website address and exam pattern for the JEE April 2020 will also be different from that of last year's checl all the changes here

Do you need to register or not

Registration is only for those who have not applied before. If you have applied for Janaury exam then you might not have to register and can directly apply by filling the application form.

Step 1: Visit the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the application form button
Step 3: Click on the way you wish to apply
Step 4: Register if not applied before using credentials
Step 5: Verify and create log-in
Step 6: Fill form, upload images
Step 7: Make payment, submit form

New Exam Pattern

There will be a total of 75 questions, of which each sestion has 20 MCQs and five long form questions. Each question will score four marks and for wrong marks one mark will be deducted. There will be no negative marking in the long form questions.

Exam fee

The application fee is Rs 650. For female candidates the same is Rs 325. For Sc, ST, PwD and Tragender category the fee is Rs 325. Those wish to appear for Both paper will have to submit Rs 13000. For reserved category candiates and females the same is Rs 650.
For foreign students, the fee is Rs 3000 for makes and Rs 1500 for females, per exam.

Application and fee submission deadline

While the applications can be submitted till March 6, 2020. Candidates can continue paying fee till March 7, 2020. No form will be accepted without the payment of the application fee.

Would this be counted as second attempt?

For those who have appeared in 2019, it would be a second attempt but for candidates who appeared in Janaury session, this would be counted as same attempt. The rule is that attempts in same academic year will be counted as single attempt. Only the best score will be counted as final score.

Who can apply?

Anyone who has cleared class 12 exam in 2019, 2018 and 2020 can apply for this exam. Those awaiting their result can also apply. There is no upper age limit. Candidates who have appeared in January session can also apply.

Education qualification for JEE Main 

JEE Main can be attempted by anyone who has cleared class 12 with at least five subjects. Though the JEE Main question paper is based on PCM, it is not necessary to have these as main subjects

Age limit to apply for JEE Main 2020

The official notification by NTA has invited applications from students who have cleared class 12 exam in 2018, 2019 and are appearing for in 2020. Moreover, the IITs allow only two attempts for the JEE (Advanced), that is, a candidate should have appeared for the class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2019 or 2020

JEE Main 2020: Screenshots of questions allegedly taken during exam found online

Several screenshots claiming to be taken during the Joint Engineering Examination (JEE) Main January 9 exam have gone viral on social media. While many Twitter users have been sharing the screenshots of the questions, these have been circulated from a thread in Quora — a question-answer based website under the thread, ‘what is the most disturbing picture you have seen.’

The thread went active allegedly on the first day of the BTech entrance exam that was from January 6. The result of JEE Main was released on January 17.

Image size to be uploaded in JEE Main application

The scanned image of the candidate should be passport size and the dimensions should be 30mm X 45mm. The scanned image of the signature should be of the dimensions — 80mm X 35mm. The documents file format should be a .jpg or .jpeg and the file size should not be more than 80KB each

List of documents needed

To avoid any hassle, the applicant should keep these documents ready. It includes class 10 mark sheet, class 12 or an equivalent exam mark sheet, diploma or degree course certificate/ mark sheet, academic details, employment certificates (if any), reservation certificates (if applicable).

JEE Main April 2020 application form HIGHLIGHTS: With the JEE Main April result, the NTA will declare the collaborated ranks as well. This will include marks from the January session as well. Those who clear JEE Main and appear in top 2.15 ranks will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced which is the entrance exam for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).
