JEE Main 2024 Registration Updates: Session 2 application begins, link at jeemain.nta.ac.in

The top 2.5 lakh candidates of JEE Main 2024 will be able to register for JEE Advanced 2024 exam at jeeadv.ac.in. The application for JEE Advanced will begin after the declaration of the JEE Main resullt.

The candidates are not allowed to fill more than one JEE Main application form. Any candidate with more than one JEE 2024 application number will be treated as UFM (Unfair Means), even if found at a later stage, and strict action will be taken against that candidate, NTA said.

The PwD candidates in JEE Main 2024 session 1 exam were allotted a PwD-friendly test centre and extra organisational support was given to those candidates. Candidates belonging to the PwD category will also be given a compensatory 20 minutes of extra time for a one hour exam.

IIT Madras has announced a sports quota for admissions in its undergraduate programmes. Although the admission process will require a student to qualify the JEE Advanced, but they will not be through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) portal. 

Candidates who have already registered for JEE Main January session exam can register again for the session 2 exams. Those candidates will have to login by using their application number, ABC id or DigiLocker.

Already registered candidates in Session 1 are allowed to opt for the following:

i. Course (paper)
ii. Medium of question paper
iii. State code of eligibility
iv. Examination cities as per the available options.
v. Educational qualification details (Class 10 and Class 12).
vi. Fee payment

Those candidates who have not applied earlier, need to apply afresh by March 2. The new candidates will have to go to the jeemain.nta.ac.in and register for the April session exam.

The candidates who have applied and successfully paid the JEE Main 2024 examination fee for session 1 and wish to appear for JEE Main 2024 in session 2 will be required to log in with their previous application number and password as provided in session 1. They may only choose the paper, medium of the examination, state code of eligibility, cities for session 2, educational qualification details,
and pay the examination fees.

Earlier set to be held between April 1 and 15, now the JEE Main session 2 exams will be held from April 4 to 15.

Answer: The registration for JEE Main session 2 exam has not started yet.

As per the official information brochure, candidates who qualify for admission in the NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE Main ranks, they should have secured at least 75 per cent marks in the Class 12 examination or be in the top 20 percentile in Class 12 examination conducted by respective Boards. For SC / ST candidates, the qualifying marks should be 65 per cent in the Class 12 examination.

The official website to register for JEE Main is jeemain.nta.ac.in. It is the new website set by NTA. Earlier the JEE Main website was jeemain.nta.nic.in.

NTA has not yet opened the JEE Main 2024 April exam application links. The jeemain.nta.ac.in will host the JEE Main session 2 registration link.

Out of the 12,21,615 candidates registering for JEE Main paper 1, as many as 11,70,036 appeared. The JEE Main BArch paper was taken by 55,493 candidates out of the total 74,002 registered candidates.

Of the total 12,31,874 candidates who registered for paper 1 and paper 2, as many as 8,24,945 were male candidates, 4,06,920 female candidates and nine belonged to the third gender category. 

Apart from the 544 exam centres in 291 cities, JEE Main was also conducted in 21 cities outside India in Manama, Doha, Dubai,
Kathmandu, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, Kuwait City, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos/Abuja, Colombo, Jakarta, Moscow, Ottawa, Port Louis, Bangkok and Washington DC. The examination was conducted in Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, and Oslo cities for the first
time.

According to data shared by NTA, 95.8% of the registered candidates appeared for paper 1 (BE / BTech) in the JEE Main January 2024 exam. This is one of the highest percentages of attendance for JEE Main since NTA has started conducting JEE Main examination, NTA said.

NTA will likely release the JEE Main answer key soon at jeemain.nta.ac.in.

NTA will make the JEE Main 2024 April exam application form available at jeemain.nta.ac.in website.

The JEE Main paper 1 is held for admission to engineering programmes (BE/BTech) at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs), and institutions and universities funded and recognized by participating state governments. JEE Main is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced which is conducted for admission to IITs.

JEE Main paper 2 is conducted for admission to BArch and BPlanning courses in the country.

The JEE Main 2024 April exam registration will begin shortly at jeemain.nta.ac.in.

The NTA will declare the JEE Main 2024 session one result on February 12.

If a candidate has missed filling up the JEE Main 2024 application form for the January session, he/she can fill up the JEE Main APril 2024 session application form. The registration link for JEE Main will be made live today, February 2.

There is no need to upload a thumb impression in the online JEE Main 2024 application form.

While some states provide free residential coaching programmes to all categories of students, several others have been offering engineering and medical entrance exam coaching to students belonging to certain categories of students including those only from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

The NTA has not yet released the JEE Main answer key 2024. NTA will likely release the JEE Main provisional answer key first before issuing the final answer key. The JEE Main result is set to be announced on February 12 and the final answer key will also be out by then

• The scanned photograph and signature should be in JPG/JPEG format (clearly legible).
• The size of the scanned photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb (clearly legible).
• The size of the scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb (clearly legible)

In a bid to reduce stress and discuss issues the JEE and NEET aspirants would be facing, district collector will have a weekly dinner every Friday with the coaching students in the city at their hostels.

The second session for JEE Main 2024 is scheduled to be held between April 1 and April 15. 

IIT Madras is launching a new programme - BTech in AI and Data Analytics (AIDA). The first batch will start in July 2024. The students will be admitted through the JEE Advanced exam to this undergraduate programme in AI and Data Analytics at IIT Madras.

It is not mandatory for the candidates to register for the second session of JEE Main 2024 exam. The JEE Main 2024 session 2 exam is set to be held in April. Candidates who want to improve their scores can apply again and appear for the JEE Main April 2024 exam. The highest of the two scores will be taken into consideration while preparing the merit.

The NTA was supposed to open the JEE Main April 2024 registration link today, February 2. The JEE Main 2024 application link for the April session exam will be made live at jeemain.nta.ac.in.

The Kota administration has decided to give mandatory training to every hostel staff in the city, the administration officials announced. The step has been taken to provide a positive atmosphere to the NEET and JEE Main coaching students in the city and keep them in constant contact with the authorities.

Only those candidates who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or those who are appearing in the Class 12 and equivalent examination in 2024, are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2024.

The morning shift, according to students who appeared for the JEE Main 2024 Feb 1 exam, was a balanced paper and covered all the chapters of the CBSE board 2024 syllabus.

NTA has advised the candidates to exercise the utmost care in filling up the correct details in the online JEE Main 2024 April exam application form. Any request for change in the particulars and uploaded scanned images at any stage will not be considered by NTA under any circumstances. NTA will not entertain the corrections sent by the candidate through post/ fax/ WhatsApp/ e-mail or by hand.

JEE Main 2024 is being conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

However, if any candidate chooses English as a medium, then the question paper will be visible in Engish only. 

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is inviting quotation bids from reputed coaching centres to provide JEE Advanced, NEET and JEE Main preparatory coaching to meritorious students of NDMC schools. The council’s plan is to impart two years of integrated coaching to students of NDMC or Navyug Schools.

Questions asked from Kinematics,  Laws of Motion, Work Power & Energy, Gravitation, Circular Motion, Heat & Thermodynamics, Magnetism-2 questions, Wave Optics, Capacitance, Current Electricity, Modern Physics, Semi-Conductors. Both MCQs & Numerical based questions were Lengthy. Few fact-based questions from Class 12 chapters of NCERT were also asked. Students felt Physics section was Balanced as per Coverage of Chapters.

Free training for the director, manager, warden, guard and mess staff working in every hostel in the city will begin from February 3 in different areas of the city. Nearly 200 personnel will be trained in one session.

With the completion of the sessions, a survey of hostels and PGs in the city will be conducted and action will be taken against those hostels that fail to follow the guidelines and instructions of the district administration and do not participate in the gate keeper training.

This updates comes a few days after an 18-year-old girl, who had been preparing for had been preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), died by suicide in Kota. Last year, Kota saw 29 student deaths by suicide reported in its many coaching centres, the highest ever in a single year.

Today's Mathematics paper was moderate to difficult based on students’ feedback. Students claimed that the questions were not that difficult but a bit calculative. Questions from Probability, Matrices, Vectors and 3D were there in the paper. Coordinate Geometry and calculus were dominant in the paper. Almost all the topics were covered.

"Practice through mock tests holds the key. Overall, it was a balanced paper which can be solved in the stipulated time. Average students found Mathematics a bit lengthy," said Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering at Aakash BYJU'S.

The number of JEE Main 2024 exam cities has decreased to 300 in India as compared to 304 exam centre cities last year.
