JEE Main: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore is one of the 23 IITs in the country. The institute, established in 2009, has a total of 2,207 students and 194 faculty staff members.

Within 14 years of its inception, the institute was able to secure a rank at the global and national level.

At the global level, it has ranked in the QS World University Rankings, QS Asia University Rankings as well as THE World Ranking. However, the ranking of the institute has deteriorated across all global platforms. In the QS World University Rankings, IIT Indore ranking fell from 396th in 2023 to 454th spot in 2024.

Similarly, in QS Asia University Rankings, it fell from 178 to 185 and in THE World Ranking it fell from 401 to 500 band to 601 to 800 band.

In the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2023, the institute ranked at the 28th position overall, 21st position in the research category and 14th spot amongst engineering colleges.

IIT Indore offers BTech in nine departments, MTech with the provision of converting it to MTech + PhD dual degree at the end of third semester in 15 departments, two-year MSc with a provision of converting it into a MSc + PhD dual degree at end of third semester in five subjects. There are four subjects for five year BTech + MTech dual degree course, six disciplines for MS (Research) and 19 for PhD.
