JEE Main 2020: NTA releases sample question papers for Chemistry, check important topics

JEE Main 2020: The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the sample question paper for Chemistry under the new exam pattern for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The test will be held from January 6 to 11, while the second examination is scheduled to be conducted from April 3 to 9, 2020. However, from this year onwards, the NTA has changed the exam pattern.

The number of questions to be asked in the JEE Main has been reduced from 30 to 25 and out of the 25 questions. Of the 25, only 20 will be multiple-choice questions (MCQ) while five will be long-form questions. After the introduction of the new paper pattern, candidates have been awaiting the official sample papers. Here is the first one released by the NTA

JEE 2020: Important chapters for Chemistry

Chemistry is considered easier by most JEE (Main) students. It is a straightforward paper and based only on facts elucidated in the NCERT textbook. So covering the whole of the NCERT textbook along with examples is a must.

Chemistry syllabus includes state of matter, chemical bonding and molecular structure, atomic structure, redox reaction and electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, solutions, chemical thermodynamics, equilibrium, surface chemistry, d and f block elements, hydrogen, block elements, classification of elements and periodicity in priorities, co-ordination compounds, environmental chemistry, organic compounds containing halogens, hydrocarbons, environmental chemistry, polymers, biomolecules, chemistry in everyday life, principles related to practical chemistry.

The most important topics in the subject include chemical bonding and molecular structure, bio-molecules, polymer, aldehyde ketone and carboxylic acids, equilibrium, coordinate compounds etc, as per experts.
