JEE Advanced 2024 Analysis: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras held the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 on Sunday, May 26. The paper, according to experts and feedback from students, was balanced in terms of difficulty level.
JEE Advanced paper, as per Unacademy, was skewed towards Class 12 especially in chemistry and physics subjects.
Mathematics in paper 1, according to Motion Education, faired between easy and moderate with questions coming from statistics, definite integrals and functions. It covered some good questions from permutation and combination, 3-D geometry, circles with certain questions being lengthy.
However, as per Unacademy tutors, the mathematics section in paper 1 was “challenging due to lengthy and calculation-intensive problems, while it was easier in Paper 2.”

In chemistry, a lot of questions came from organic chemistry in paper 1, Motion Education said while analysing the paper. Apart from this, inorganic chemistry had direct questions from NCERT and in physical chemistry questions came from thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, chemical kinetics and atomic structure. Organic Chemistry tested candidates on mixed concepts. Most questions were asked from amines, polymers, biomolecules.
The overall Chemistry paper, according to Unacademy ranged from moderate to difficult, with almost all topics being covered in both papers. Organic Chemistry had a slightly higher weightage.
As compared to other subjects, Physics was the toughest with emphasis on Electrostatics, Modern Physics, Kinematics, Modern Physics and Optics.
In the paper 2 of chemistry, questions were asked from thermodynamics, kinetics, metallurgy. The questions from organic chemistry were very direct, Motion Education said.
At the same time, it added, mathematics ranged from lengthy to moderate with questions coming from integral, trigonometry, vector and 3D.
Physics on the other hand was the toughest among the two with maximum questions being asked from kinematics and electromagnetism in paper 2. Among all the topics, questions from modern physics were the toughest in the section.
However, experts from Unacademy said that physics had a easy to moderate difficulty level in both papers.
