JEE Main 2023: The Overseas Citizen of India/ Person of Indian Origin (OCI/PIO) candidates are eligible to appear directly for JEE (Advanced) 2023 without appearing in JEE (Main) 2023. This measure will be applicable only for this year, informed IIT Guwahati.
During the seat allocation process for IITs, the eligible OCI/PIO candidates who qualify in JEE (Advanced) 2023 will be eligible to compete for the ‘Open category’ seats in the General (GEN) and GEN-Person with Disability (PwD) categories as applicable.
Eligible women candidates OCI/PIO candidates who qualify in JEE (Advanced) 2023 shall also be considered for the Open Female Supernumerary seats in GEN and GEN-PwD categories as applicable.
The fees payable by the OCI/PIO candidates have been revised and are at par with the fees payable by Indian nationals.
This decision has been taken following the Supreme Court’s February 3 judgment. The Joint Admission Board has, therefore, made certain changes in the information brochure for JEE (Advanced) 2023 which is available at jeeadv.ac.in.
