Brother of 2018 JEE Advanced topper, AIR 4 Raghav Goyal wants ‘to invent something’

Raghav, a student of Bhavan Vidyalaya Sector 15 Panchkula while speaking to The Indian Express said that his immense interest in Mathematics and Computers pulled him to become an engineer.

JEE Advanced 2023: Bringing laurels to the city, Raghav Goyal, a resident of Sector 15, Chandigarh clinched All India Rank 4 in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2023, results of which were declared here this morning.

Raghav, a student of Bhavan Vidyalaya Sector 15 Panchkula while speaking to The Indian Express said that his immense interest in Mathematics and Computers pulled him to become an engineer.

Aiming for admission to IIT Bombay now, Raghav had secured AIR 20 by obtaining 100 percentile in JEE Main 2023.

Raghav’s father Pankaj Goyal has done his BTech from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh and now runs a pharma company based in the industrial area Panchkula. He worked as ITS Officer in the Government of India before going ahead to make his own company. Raghav’s mother Mamta Goyal is the co-owner of the pharma company.

Interestingly, Raghav’s brother Pranav scored AIR 1 in JEE Advanced of 2018. He had pursued his BTech from IIT Bombay.

While speaking to The Indian Express, Raghav said, “ In total, I would study for around 10 hours. I feel that having an interest in what you study is highly important. As I have an interest in mathematics and computers, I want to create something new.”

Raghav took his coaching from the Allen Institute.

Raghav has also represented India in IOAA 2022 (International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics) that was held at Georgia from August 14 to August 21 and won a gold medal and a special prize.

Not just this he has also been selected to represent India in the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2023) to be held in Tokyo from July 10 next month to July 17. He has also qualified for the Indian Chemistry Olympiad 2023 (INChO 2023) and Indian Mathematics Olympiad 2023 (INMO 2023), other than qualifying NTSE (Stage II) held by NCERT & getting NTSE Scholarship.

AIR 19- Moulik Jindal

Moulik Jindal, a resident of Sector 46 too made the city proud by clinching All India Rank 19. A resident of Sector 46, Chandigarh, Moulik too is a student of Bhavan Vidyalaya.

While speaking to The Indian Express, Moulik’s father Rohit Jindal said, “He was so focused that we knew he would make it. Only so that he doesn’t feel he is deprived of anything, our entire family didn’t go on a vacation for the last three years.”

Rohit is into a business of computers based in Chandigarh itself while his wife Rekha Jindal is a homemaker.

Moulik would study around eight to 10 hours every day and is interested in computer science. His brother Sanchit too is in IIT Bombay.
