IIT Delhi–Abu Dhabi has officially opened admissions for the second batch of students to its MTech in Energy Transition and Sustainability and Ph.D. in Energy and Sustainability programs. Applications are being accepted online, with the academic semester set to begin in August 2025 for the 2025–26 academic year.
Following the successful launch of the M.Tech program in January 2024 and the Ph.D. program in January 2025, the Abu Dhabi campus continues to strengthen its position as a regional hub for advanced engineering, technology, and research — especially in the context of the global energy transition.
The M.Tech program offers a comprehensive two-year, in-person curriculum designed for both recent graduates and working professionals. With a multidisciplinary and systems-based approach, the program delves into key areas such as renewable energy technologies, energy storage, sustainable transportation, and the financial dimensions of decarbonization, aiming to cultivate the next generation of sustainability leaders.
Meanwhile, the Ph.D. program focuses on addressing pressing challenges in the energy sector, including enhancing energy efficiency, reducing environmental impact, ensuring grid stability, and promoting the adoption of clean energy technologies. Doctoral researchers will contribute to a wide spectrum of critical topics aligned with the global push toward NetZero goals.
Scholarship Opportunity at IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi
The institute provides merit-based scholarships and and tuition waivers to Ph.D and M. Tech. candidates. Candidates seeking scholarship have to undergo a rigorous selection process, based on academic merit, qualifying examination scores (where applicable), relevant experience, and interviews.

IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi located in the Zayed University campus in Abu Dhabi.
