(Representative image/ file)IGNOU 2024 Admission Cycle: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) today extended the last date for submission of application (except certificate and semester-based programmes) to September 10. Interested students can apply for these programmes at the official IGNOU website — ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. For online courses, candidates will have to visit the other official website — ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.
“Extension of last date for July, 2024 Fresh Admission till 10th Sept, 2024 in respect of all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode for July, 2024 session (except for Semester based and Certificate programmes),” the official post on X (earlier known as Twitter) stated.

In addition to this, the last date of July 2024 IGNOU re-registration has also been extended till September 10 for all programmes offered in ODL/ online mode.
For fresh admissions, students interested in enrolling in undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate programmes can apply through the designated ODL and online portals. For re-registration, the existing students who need to re-register for the next semester or academic year can do so through the re-registration portal.
Before preceding the fresh admission application candidates must have the following documents —
– Scanned passport size photograph
– Scanned signature (less than 100 KB)
– Scanned documents of required educational qualification
– Scanned copy of experience certificate, not mandatory
– Scanned Copy of Category Certificate, if applicable such as SC, ST, OBC
Candidates must note that the size of their photograph and signature documents must be less than 100 KB. While the other mentioned documents must not exceed more than 200 KB. The IGNOU official website, also states that the scanned file must be from the original documents.
Additionally, eligible students can apply for Government of India scholarships on the national scholarship portal at — scholarships.gov.in — after confirmation of admission.
