DU Admissions 2025: BCom remains top choice, SRCC most-preferred college

The application process began on June 17, 2025, and Phase II—where candidates submitted their programme and college preferences post-CUET UG result—has now concluded.  Among individual colleges within the Delhi University, Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) recorded the highest number of first-preference applications, with 38,795 candidates selecting it as their top choice.

This year, a total of 3,05,357 candidates signed up for the CSAS portal, out of which, 2,39,890 candidates completed the process by submitting their programme and college preferences. Notably, women candidates accounted for a higher share of DU Admissions 2025 applications, with 1,27,284 applications, recording 53.06% of total. While male candidates constituted 46.93% with 1,12,603 applications.

Among the undergraduate programmes, BCom (Hons) received the highest number of preferences with 19,90,966 selections across colleges. This was followed by BCom with 15,26,403, BA (Hons) English with 12,23,388, BA (Hons) Political Science with 9,96,868, and BA (Hons) History with 7,72,029.

In terms of first-preference programme choices by candidates, BCom (Hons) again recorded the highest number, with 48,336 applicants listing it as their top choice. It was followed by BA (Hons) Political Science (15,295), BSc (Hons) Zoology (12,722), BTech (Mathematics and Humanities) (10,584), and BCom (8,939).

Among colleges, Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) attracted the most first-preference applications, with 38,795 students selecting it as their top choice.

Hindu College was next with 31,901 first-preference submissions, followed by Hansraj College (15,902), St. Stephen’s College (12,413), and Miranda House (11,403).

The data shared by the university also shows that tn the Bachelor of Arts programme category, the most preferred subject combination was History + Political Science, chosen 7,60,233 times. This was followed by Economics + Political Science (3,88,407) and English + Economics (3,49,367).

Stream-wise data indicates that Humanities-based programmes attracted the highest interest, with 58.89% of candidates opting for them. Commerce-based programmes accounted for 20.89% of the total choices, while Science-based programmes received 20.22% of the preferences.

The data highlights the continued popularity of commerce-related degrees at the University of Delhi, particularly BCom (Hons), which maintains its status as the most sought-after undergraduate programme among students for the 2025 academic year.
