The CUET UG 2023 began on May 21 and is scheduled to conclude on June 8. The exam, which is being conducted for the second time around, has seen a massive increase in the number of candidates registered. Last year around 12.5 lakh students registered for the exam.

This year, many students from the state of Jharkhand and union territory of Jammu and Kashmir were initially allotted centres to neighbouring states due to lack of adequate number of centres within the state. After receiving multiple complaints from the candidates, the NTA decided to push the exam dates in Jammu and Kashmir. The exam that was supposed to begin from May 21 began from May 26.

Due to the law and order situation in Manipur, the exams will be conducted there from June 5 to 8. The candidates appearing from the state were also given an option to change their centres.
