For schools situated in the winter-bound areas which are expected to remain closed in January due to the winter season, the practical exams for these school students will be conducted between November 15 and December 14, 2023, the board had announced earlier.

The board will start the theory exams on February 15, 2024. However, a complete date sheet is awaited.

The board has also issued a list of Class 10, 12 subjects with marks distribution to help the schools conduct the practical exams smoothly. The circular was issued after the CBSE noticed that schools were erring while uploading the internal marks.

The details provided by CBSE include class, subject code, subject name, maximum marks for theory exam, maximum marks for practical exam, maximum marks for project assessment, and maximum marks for internal assessment. Whether an external examiner will be appointed for the CBSE practical exam assessment, whether or not practical answer books will be provided to the students, and the type of answer books that will be used in the theory exams are also mentioned in the circular.

CBSE has announced that the maximum marks allotted to a subject will be 100 with marks distributed amongst theory, practical, project, and internal assessment components.
