CBSE Board Exams 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today announced the datesheet for 2024 board exams for Classes 10 and 12. The exams will begin on February 15, 2024 and will conclude on April 10, 2024. The dates are available on the official website — cbse.gov.in. The exam period will span for a duration of nearly 55 days. In its notification CBSE stated, “all the organisations holding any examination are requested to fix the dates of their examinations keeping in view the schedule of board examinations.” This year, the board exams were conducted from February 15 to March 21 for Class 10 and from February 15 to April 5 for Class 12. The results were declared on May 12. The overall pass percentage for Class 12 this year was 87.33 per cent and for Class 10 it was 93.12 per cent. Over 16 lakh students appeared for Class 12 board exams and over 21 lakh appeared for Class 10 board exams. In Class 12, the pass percentage fell by 5.38 per cent while in Class 10, it fell by 1.28 per cent. Girls secured a higher pass percentage in both classes. This year, the CBSE did not release a merit list in order to avoid unhealthy competition amongst students. Also, it stated from now onwards students compartment exams will be called supplementary exams.
