The 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) prelims were held across the state on December 13, 2024. About 5.76 lakh candidates had applied. Of the 3,28,990 candidates who had appeared in the examination, 21,581 were declared successful.

BPSC Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh told PTI, “A total of 13 candidates, who appeared in the exam, have been debarred for their indulgence in unfair means. Eleven of them were those who were part of the disruption created at Bapu Pariksha Parisar centre in Patna on December 13, leading to the cancellation of the exam there.”

This year, only 42% of the candidates, or 2,41,212 individuals, actually appeared for the exam. In an unusual turn of events, a re-examination of BPSC was conducted on January 4 where only 5,943 candidates participated despite 12,012 being issued admit cards.

This disparity in attendance has raised concerns, especially when considering the alleged paper leak incident on January 13 at the Bapu Examination Complex, where only 8,111 candidates downloaded revised admit cards out of the total registered.
