AICTE launches full-time Masters, PhD programmes; last date to apply June 6

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched full-time ME, MTech, and PhD programmes, under the Quality Improvement Program (QIP). Interested candidates can apply for the programmes at the official website — aicte-india.org.

Admission process

AICTE is currently inviting applications under “AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme” from the faculty members of AICTE approved institutions. Based on the applications received, AICTE will be allotting the applicants to the respective host institution for the selection process.

Further, the PG Certification Programme could be commenced by the concerned host institution, if and only if a minimum of 30 candidates are admitted into a course.

Admission timeline

Candidates have time till June 6 to apply, as the date of conducting interview by the concerned institute is June 18-20. The institute will send list to AICTE by June 20, following which the announcement of results by AICTE will be done on June 24, and the programme will commence on June 30.

The On- campus (Mandatory) period of the programme will be between June 30 and July 12, while the online (with possible on- campus also) will be between July 14 – Dec 11. Following this, the mandatory on campus will be done between Dec 14 – Dec 26, and the final evaluation by the concerned institute will be done between Dec 21 – Dec 26. The announcement of final result will be done on Jan 13 , 2025.

AI/ML/Data Science/Data Analytics, Augmented- (AR) / Mixed- (MR) / Virtual Realities (VR) / Cyber Physical Systems, IoT & Drone Technology, Intelligent Transport Systems, Robotics, 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing

Eligibility criteria

Admission guidelines for AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme are as follows:

— Full time Regular / Permanent faculty members of AICTE approved Degree Level / Diploma level institutes, belonging to CORE Engineering disciplines like Mechanical, Civil, Material/Metallurgical, Electrical and Electronics, Chemical etc.

— The teaching experience of minimum 5 years at graduate/diploma level at AICTE approved institution.

— In addition to the above minimum eligibility, criteria of respective host institution shall be applicable.

The duration of AICTE-QIP-PG certificate programme(s) will be six months. The batch size should be 50 candidates at one identified host institution per session. The course(s) will be offered through hybrid mode. Out of the total six months duration, a minimum of four weeks will have to be conducted offline.

In these programmes, enrolled candidates will be allowed two casual leaves in one session, and medical leave of maximum of one week per session. Students should mandatorily have 80 per cent attendance for lectures (inclusive of off campus and on campus) and 90 per cent attendance for Lab works to appear for final evaluation and certificate.
