As per UDISE 2015-15, 833 secondary school buildings in 21 states are in a dilapidated condition

According to the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) 2014-15 data, 6,340 government elementary schools in 28 states are housed in dilapidated buildings, the Human Resource Development ministry said today.

In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, HRD Minister Smriti Irani also said that as per UDISE 2015-15, 833
secondary school buildings in 21 states are in a dilapidated condition.

“Out of these, 449 schools have zero enrolment and remaining 384 schools are being utilised for teaching learning
purposes,” Irani said.
