It is the love of food that has made 27-year-old Cambodian, Pat Morokot, to get enrolled in a culinary school. While people with a dual degree in engineering and MBA would happily choose a comfortable routine job, Morokot feels that his learning has just started.
Morokot is in New Delhi to participate in the Young Chef Olympiad 2016 competition.

Morokot never planned his career but since he was a bright student, he competed and studied in the reputed engineering college – Institute of Technology of Cambodia. “After completion, I went to Malaysia to get a degree in Management. There I shared a room with an Indian. Both of us started to cook. While he made amazing curries, I too cooked traditional Cambodian food. From there, I realised my true calling is cooking,” says he.
At present, Morokot works in the Ministry of Mining but he is also pursuing a course in culinary. ” I will soon open a restaurant Morokot Green in Kâmpóng Cham. I’ll serve both traditional and fast food and of course, my innovations,” he concludes.
