BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, a popular Bhojpuri singer, has been participating in Delhi’s Ramlila for almost a decade now. On Saturday, he will perform the role of Parashuram, one of the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu, at Red Fort’s Lav Kush Ramlila.

At another Ramlila in the capital, Tiwari will play the role of Angad (son of vanara King Bali and an emissary of Lord Ram in the Ramayana).

No Show Not Done

NGT chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava, known for his mild mannered and soft spoken disposition in court, got irked on Friday during a hearing related to tree felling on Kanwar Marg in Uttar Pradesh.

As the counsel for Survey of India tried to placate the bench regarding the Surveyor General’s no show in the previous hearing, Justice Shrivastava asked the counsel to slow down on more than one occasion. He said they will not proceed without having an explanation on the top officer’s failure to appear despite orders.

Meet With VP

After wrapping up Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections earlier this week and on the eve of polling in the Haryana Assembly polls, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar called on Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday. Kumar met the VP at the Vice President’s Enclave. The two other Election Commissioners — Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu — had also called on the VP after assuming office in March.
